Colorado Musicians Bringing Healing to Hospital Rooms: Meghan Clarisse Cave’s Story and How to Get Involved
Music can change the atmosphere of a room, especially in hospitals where patients, families, and caregivers are carrying a lot. That is why I want to spotlight this cause and invite more people across Colorado to learn about it.
According to Musicians On Call, their volunteers have performed for more than one million people in healthcare facilities nationwide, and their mission is to reach millions more. Their programs include bedside live performances, virtual visits, streaming experiences for patients, and songwriting support.
Colorado has a deep bench of working musicians, singer-songwriters, and community artists. This is a direct way to use music to serve people who are going through difficult medical moments.
From what we have seen locally, this is not about performance for applause. It is about connection, comfort, and dignity for people in care settings, plus support for families and healthcare staff around them.
